"Faces from the Interior: The North American Portraits of Karl Bodmer" is Joslyn Art Museum’s first project to focus exclusively on Karl Bodmer’s portraits of Native Americans.
For the exhibition, the museum commissioned four short documentary films. The pieces are modern day portraits: rather than acting as extensions of wall texts, they offer visitors a window into current Native experiences beyond the walls of the museum. ephemera and museum curatorial staff collaborated with subjects to tell their stories in their voices.
